Ja'far bin Sulayman said: One day I came to Farqad and found him alone. I said: O son of Umm Farqad! Today I will certainly ask you about this hadith. I said: Tell me about your statement concerning being swallowed up by the earth and being pelted with stones: is this something you say yourself, or do you narrate it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: No! Rather, I narrate it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I asked: Who narrated this hadith to you? He replied: Asim bin Amr al-Bajali narrated this hadith to me from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); Qatadah narrated this hadith to me from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab; and Ibrahim al-Nakha'i narrated this hadith to me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group of my Ummah will spend the night in eating, drinking, amusement and play, then in the morning they will have become pigs and monkeys. Then a wind will be sent upon one of the tribes, which will destroy them just as it destroyed those before them. The reason for this will be that those people will declare wine lawful, use musical instruments and keep singing girls."
Ahmad recorded it; the narrator Farqad is da'if (weak).

Farqad al-Sabakhi said: Abu Munib al-Shami narrated this hadith to me from Abu Ata', from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); Shahr bin Hawshab narrated this hadith to me from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Ghanm (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); Asim bin Amr al-Bajali narrated this hadith to me from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); and Sa'id bin al-Musayyab narrated the hadith to me (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) it was narrated to me from him, from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, some people of my Ummah will spend the night in evil, arrogance, amusement and play, and in the morning they will have become monkeys and pigs, because they will declare forbidden things lawful, they will have kept singing girls, they will be drinking wine, consuming usury (riba) and wearing silk."
Abdullah bin Ahmad recorded it. The narrator Farqad is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group of my Ummah will certainly declare wine lawful; they will change its name." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Ibn Majah recorded it; however, in place of the words "they will certainly declare lawful" he recorded the words "they will certainly drink".
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Thabit bin al-Simt, and he is mastur (of unknown condition); the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
