عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْخُذُ الْحَبَّةَ مِنَ الرُّمَّانِ فَيَأْكُلُهَا قِيلَ لَهُ : يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ لِمَ تَفْعَلُ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي : " أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي الْأَرْضِ رُمَّانَةٌ تُلَقَّحُ إِلَّا بِحَبَّةٍ مِنْ حَبِّ الْجَنَّةِ " . فَلَعَلَّهَا هَذِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

It is reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he would take a seed of a pomegranate and eat it. He was asked: "O Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas! Why do you do this?" He replied: "It has reached me
that every pomegranate on earth has in it one of the seeds of Paradise, so perhaps this is that one."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

وَعَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بِنْتِ عِيَاضٍ الْكِلَابِيَّةِ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ : كُلُوا الرُّمَّانَ بِشَحْمِهِ فَإِنَّهُ دِبَاغُ الْمَعِدَةِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyidah Rabi'ah bint Iyad al-Kilabiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "Eat pomegranates with their pith, for they are a tanning for the stomach."
