Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed dates among his Companions. One of them began eating two dates together, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating two dates together, except that it may be done with the permission of one's companions.
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, who suffered from confusion (ikhtilat). The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
