عَنْ سَالِمٍ مَوْلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ مَوْلَايَ زَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ فِي السُّوقِ ، فَمَرَّ عَلَيْنَا سَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ ، وَقَدِ اشْتَرَى وَسْقًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ زَيْدٌ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ تَفْعَلُ هَذَا وَأَنْتَ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ؟ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ النَّفْسَ إِذَا أَحْرَزَتْ رِزْقَهَا اطْمَأَنَّتْ وَتَفَرَّغَتْ لِلْعِبَادَةِ وَأَيِسَ مِنْهَا الْوَسْوَاسُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ . وَسَالِمٌ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ وَفِيهِ أَيْضًا الْهُذَيْلُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، وَثَّقَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَضَعَّفُهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَجَمَاعَةٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ . وَسَالِمٌ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ وَفِيهِ أَيْضًا الْهُذَيْلُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، وَثَّقَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَضَعَّفُهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَجَمَاعَةٌ .
Salim, the freed slave of Zayd bin Suhan, narrates: I was with my master Zayd bin Suhan in the market when Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by us. He had bought a wasq of food grain. Zayd said: "O Abu Abdullah! You do this while you are a Companion of the Messenger of Allah?" (that is, storing so much grain). He replied: "When the soul has secured its provision, it becomes content and free for worship, and the whisperings (of Satan) give up hope of it."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. I do not know the narrator named Salim. Its chain also contains a narrator, Hudhayl bin Bilal, whom Imam Ahmad and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Yahya bin Ma'in and a group called him da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ عَمُودًا أَحْمَرَ قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَادَّخِرُوا طَعَامَ سَنَتِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا سَنَةُ جُوعُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنَةُ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهَا ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you see a red column (or vertical streak) in the direction of the east in the month of Ramadan, store up your food for the year, for it will be a year of hunger."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Umm Abdullah, the daughter of Khalid bin Ma'dan, and I do not know this woman. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
