Ibn Abi Mulaykah narrates: When Makkah was conquered, Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl fled and set out on a sea voyage. The sea became stormy, and the sailors and the people at sea began calling upon Allah Almighty and seeking His help. Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl said, "What is this?" They said, "This is a place where none but Allah Almighty can be of benefit." Ikrimah said, "Then that is the God of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), to whom he calls us. Take us back!" So they returned, and he came back and accepted Islam. His wife had already accepted Islam before him, so the two of them remained upon their marriage.
Tabarani recorded it.
This narration is mursal, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Imam al-Sha'bi narrates: Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), had accepted Islam while her husband, Abu al-As bin al-Rabi', was a polytheist. Later he too accepted Islam, and the two of them did not renew the marriage. Tabarani recorded the narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Jabir al-Ju'fi, and he is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy.
