Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A slave who obeys Allah Almighty and obeys his masters, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise seventy years before his masters. His master will say: O my Lord! This was my slave in the world. The Lord will say: I have recompensed him for his deeds, and I have recompensed you for your deeds."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and he said: Yahya bin Abdullah bin Abdawayh al-Saffar is alone in narrating it from his father. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: I have not found anyone who mentions Yahya; his father was mentioned by al-Khatib, but he neither criticised him nor declared him trustworthy; the rest of its narrators are such that their hadith is hasan (good).
