Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi'ah narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) performing tawaf of the House while wearing leather socks (khuff). Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I do not know which of your two things is more astonishing: your chanting huda around the House, or your performing tawaf wearing leather socks." Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I did this in the presence of one who was better than you, and he is the Messenger of Allah, and he did not object to it."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains Asim bin Ubaydullah, who is da'if (weak).
