Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning this saying of Allah Almighty, "Hajj is (in) well-known months": the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah and Dhu al-Hijjah."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Husayn bin Mukhariq. Al-Tabarani said: He is a Kufan and is thiqah (trustworthy). Al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) declared him da'if (weak), and the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah, the Exalted, says:) "Hajj is (in) well-known months." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: They are Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah and Dhu al-Hijjah; Hajj is made obligatory only in them (that is, ihram for Hajj may be entered only in these months).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains al-Mufaddal bin Sadaqah, who is matruk (abandoned).

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains al-Hajjaj bin Artah, who has been criticised, though he has been declared trustworthy.
