Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go out on military expeditions and you will gain spoils; fast and you will be healthy; travel and you will become self-sufficient (independent of people)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

(Allamah Haythami says:) I say:

Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه احمد فى المسد (467/2) ، أخرجه صحيح البخاري برقم: 7100»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty multiplies a person's good deed from ten times up to seven hundred times, except fasting, which is different. (Allah Almighty says:) 'Fasting is for Me, and I shall reward it.' (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:) The fasting person has two joys: one joy he receives at the time of breaking his fast, and one joy he will receive on the Day of Resurrection. And the smell of the fasting person's mouth is purer with Allah than the fragrance of musk."
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded it in abridged form. Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and he added these words from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When one of you is fasting, let him not speak obscenely and let him not act ignorantly. If an ignorant person behaves ignorantly towards him, let him say: 'I am fasting.'" This narration has various chains which al-Tabarani recorded; the narrators of some of its routes are the narrators of the Sahih. The chain of Ahmad contains Amr bin Mujammi', who is da'if (weak).
