Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and stopped at a gathering of Banu Salamah and said: "O Banu Salamah, whom do you call raqub among you?" A man said: "The one whose children do not survive." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, the raqub is the one none of whose children has died." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whom do you call mu'dam (destitute) among you?" The people said: "The one who has no wealth." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather it means the one who has sent nothing ahead and has no good with Allah Almighty."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded it in abridged form; the narrators of al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih.

It is reported from a man who was present when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. He narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what raqub means?" The people said: "The one who has no children (or whose children do not survive)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The raqub who is the complete raqub, the raqub who is the complete raqub, the raqub who is the complete raqub, is the man who had children and died in such a state that none of his children had died before him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know what su'luk (pauper) means?" The people said: "The one who has no wealth." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The su'luk who is the complete su'luk, the su'luk who is the complete su'luk, the su'luk who is the complete su'luk, is the man who had wealth and died in such a state that he had sent none of it ahead." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is sur'ah (one who throws others down in wrestling)?" The people said: "The one who throws others down." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sur'ah who is the complete sur'ah, the sur'ah who is the complete sur'ah, the sur'ah who is the complete sur'ah, is the man who becomes angry, and his anger grows intense, his face turns red, and his hair stands on end, and then his anger throws him down."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Abu Hisnah (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) Ibn Hisnah; al-Husayni said he is majhul (unknown). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
