Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A woman who suffered from madness (or epilepsy) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, I will pray to Allah Almighty and He will grant you a cure; and if you wish, be patient, and you will not have to give any account." The woman said: "Very well, I will be patient so that I do not have to give an account."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in Makkah when a woman from the Ansar came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah! This vile illness has overpowered me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "If you are patient with the condition you are in, then when you come on the Day of Resurrection, there will be no sin upon you and you will not have to give any account." The woman said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, I will be patient until I appear before Allah Almighty." Then the woman said: "I fear that this vile illness will expose me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for her. Whenever the woman felt that the illness was about to attack her, she would come to the Ka'bah and cling to its covering, and she would say to it (the illness): "Be gone!", and the illness would leave her. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: A hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) is also mentioned in the Sahih, but it is other than this hadith; and part of this report is narrated in the Sahih.
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Farqad al-Sabakhi, and he is da'if (weak).
