عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ : دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ الْأَزْرَقِ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَفَضَّ وَقَعَدَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُلْنَا : رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ لَوْ كُنْتَ وَصَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا كَانَ أَرْفَقَ بِكَ قَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ تَخَطَّى رِقَابَ النَّاسِ [ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ] بَعْدَ خُرُوجِ الْإِمَامِ أَوْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ كَالْجَارِّ قُصْبَهُ فِي النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ هِشَامُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَقَدْ أَجْمَعُوا عَلَى ضَعْفِهِ .

Ammar bin Sa'd said: Uthman bin al-Azraq came to us in the mosque on Friday while the imam was delivering the sermon, and he sat down in the mosque. We said: May Allah have mercy on you, had you come up to us, it would have been easier for you. He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever steps over the necks of the people on Friday after the imam has come, or separates two people, is like a person dragging his entrails in the Fire."

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ : افْتَقَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ : " أَيْنَ كُنْتَ فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَرَكَ ، أَلَمْ تَشْهَدِ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ " قَالَ : بَلَى ، وَلَكِنِّي جِئْتُ وَقَدْ ثَبَتَ النَّاسُ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَتَخَطَّى رِقَابَ النَّاسِ قَالَ : " بَلَى " .

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed the absence of one of his Companions and asked: "Where were you? I did not see you. Did you not attend the prayer?" He said: Yes, I did come, but the people had already settled in their places, and I disliked stepping over the necks of the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Very well."
