Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were taking part in a military expedition with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The iqamah was called for prayer, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) faced the hump of a camel, stood up and offered prayer facing it.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ali bin Yazid al-Alhani, who is da'if (weak).

Al-Miqdam narrates: Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) were sitting with al-Harith bin Mu'awiyah. Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Which of you remembers when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in prayer facing a camel from the spoils of war? When he completed the prayer, he took a single hair of the camel and said: Of what Allah Almighty has given you as fay', it is not lawful for me to take even this much, except the khumus (one fifth), and the khumus too will be returned among you.
Imam Bazzar recorded it; he says: No one besides al-Hasan al-Basri narrated from the narrator al-Miqdam. I say: This al-Miqdam is al-Miqdam al-Rahawi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy).
