Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Moderation in spending is half of livelihood, treating people kindly is half of intelligence, and asking well is half of knowledge."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; in its chain it is mentioned that Mukhayyis bin Tamim narrated it from Hafs bin Umar; al-Dhahabi says: Both of them are majhul (unknown).

Ibrahim al-Nakha'i narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When someone has a doubt about a verse, he should not say: What do you say about such-and-such a verse? For this will become a cause of confusion for him. Rather, a person should recite the verse before it and then leave some space between himself and what he is seeking."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its narrators have been declared trustworthy, but it is munqati' (disconnected).
