عَنْ قُرَّةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ جَلَسَ إِلَيْهِ أَصْحَابُهُ حِلَقًا حِلَقًا .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ ، كَذَّبَهُ أَحْمَدُ .

Qurrah narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat down, his Companions would sit around him in circles.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Sa'id bin Sallam, whom Imam Ahmad declared a liar.

وَعَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ قَالَ : كَانَ أَنَسٌ مِمَّا يَقُولُ لَنَا إِذَا حَدَّثْنَا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ : إِنَّهُ وَاللَّهِ مَا هُوَ بِالَّذِي تَصْنَعُ أَنْتَ وَأَصْحَابُكَ . يَعْنِي : وَيَقْعُدُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيَجْتَمِعُونَ حَوْلَهُ فَيَخْطُبُ ، إِنَّمَا كَانُوا إِذَا صَلَّوُا الْغَدَاةَ قَعَدُوا حِلَقًا حِلَقًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ ، وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ الْفَرَائِضَ وَالسُّنَنَ .
وَيَزِيدُ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ضَعِيفٌ .

Yazid al-Raqashi narrates: Whenever Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to us, he would also say: "By Allah, it is not the way you and your companions do." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) meant that what you people do is that one man sits down, people gather around him, and he delivers a sermon (that is, he gives a speech). The practice of the Companions was that after offering the morning prayer they would sit in circles, reciting the Qur'an and learning the obligatory duties (fara'id) and the Sunnahs. The narrator Yazid al-Raqashi is da'if (weak).
