عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ ، وَتَعَلَّمُوا لِلْعِلْمِ السَّكِينَةَ وَالْوَقَارَ ، وَتَوَاضَعُوا لِمَنْ تَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبَّادُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn knowledge, and learn calm and dignity for the sake of knowledge, and show humility towards those from whom you learn."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abbad bin Kathir, and he is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).

وَعَنْ جَمِيلَةَ أُمِّ وَلَدِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَتْ : كَانَ ثَابِتٌ إِذَا أَتَى أَنَسًا قَالَ : يَا جَارِيَةُ ، هَاتِي لِي طِيبًا أَمْسَحُ يَدِي ; فَإِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ ثَابِتٍ لَا يَرْضَى حَتَّى يُقَبِّلَ يَدِي .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَجَمِيلَةُ هَذِهِ لَمْ أَرَ مَنْ تَرْجَمَهَا .

A woman named Jamilah, the umm walad (slave mother of a child) of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), relates: Whenever Thabit came to Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) would say: "O girl! Bring me some perfume so that I may put it on my hand, for the son of Thabit's mother (that is, Thabit himself) will not be satisfied without kissing my hand."
