Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Badr, Sayyiduna Abu Barzah al-Harithi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carrying three heads. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him, he said: "You have succeeded." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, as for two of them, I killed them both myself. But as for the third, I saw a handsome man of fair complexion with a beautiful face strike off his head." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That was so-and-so, one of the angels."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Abd al-Aziz bin Imran, who is da'if (weak).
