Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at Sayyiduna Umayr bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was setting out for Badr and considered him too young, then he gave him permission. Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) says: It is said that his sword betrayed him. Abdullah bin Ja'far al-Makhrami says: He was martyred on the day of Badr.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
