Ibn Ishaq narrates: At Quba', the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) halted at the home of Sayyiduna Kulthum bin Hidm (may Allah be pleased with him), a man of Banu Amr bin Awf. According to one view, he halted at the home of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Khaythamah (may Allah be pleased with him). He stayed in the quarter of Banu Amr bin Awf until Friday came upon him in the area of Banu Salim bin Awf, and he offered the Friday prayer in the mosque in the low-lying part of the settlement. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at the home of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), and in that same year the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the construction of his mosque (that is, the Prophet's Mosque).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
