Urwah has stated the names of those who took part in the Pledge of al-Aqabah, who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the night of al-Aqabah. He narrates: From the Banu Salimah bin Yazid bin Jusham branch of the Ansar: Sayyiduna al-Bara bin Ma'rur bin Sakhr bin Khansa, who was a naqib (leader); he was the first person to make a bequest of a third of his wealth, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it valid. From the Banu Harithah bin al-Harith branch of the Ansar: Sayyiduna Buhayr bin al-Haytham (may Allah be pleased with him). From the Ansar: Sayyiduna Thabit bin Ajda' (may Allah be pleased with him).
