Sayyidah Aishah bint Qudamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I was with my mother, Sayyidah Ra'itah bint Sufyan al-Khuza'iyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking the pledge of allegiance from the women, saying: "I take your pledge that you will not associate anyone with Allah, you will not steal, you will not commit fornication, you will not kill your children, you will not bring forth a slander invented by yourselves, and you will not disobey in what is good." The women said: "Very well." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As far as you are able." The narrating woman says: So I too said the same words that those women said.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar, except that he recorded these words: "I take your pledge that you will not commit shirk." And the narrator said: The women said: "Very well," and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As far as you are able." The women said: "Very well, as far as we are able (we will act upon it)." Its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Uthman bin Ibrahim, who is da'if (weak).
