Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9811

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Abu Talib passed away, the people lay in wait for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O uncle! How quickly I have felt your absence!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from a person who met Ibn Sa'id al-Razi. Al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "He is not of that standard." I do not know Isa bin Abd al-Salam. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
