Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go to the tribes and pray for them. He left out one tribe and did not come to them. They were troubled by this, so they searched the belongings of a companion of theirs and found, in the baggage of one of their men, a necklace that he had taken by embezzlement. They returned it, and then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and prayed for mercy for them.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except Abdullah bin al-Mughirah bin Abi Burdah, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
