وَعَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِنْ [ لَمْ ] تَغُلَّ أُمَّتِي لَمْ يَقُمْ لَهُمْ عَدُوٌّ أَبَدًا " . قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ لِحَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ : هَلْ بَيَّتَ لَكُمُ الْعَدُوُّ حَلْبَ شَاةٍ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ وَثَلَاثَ شِيَاهٍ غُزُرٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : غَلَلْتُمْ وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ وَقَدْ صَرَّحَ بَقِيَّةُ بِالتَّحْدِيثِ .

Habib bin Maslamah narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "If my Ummah does not embezzle, no enemy will ever be able to stand against them." Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Habib bin Maslamah: "Has the enemy held out against you for as long as it takes to milk a sheep?" He replied: "Yes, and even for as long as it takes to milk three sheep." Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By the Lord of the Ka'bah, you must have embezzled."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); Baqiyyah has explicitly stated that he heard it directly (tahdith).
