Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I reached Baqi' al-Gharqad. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards me and said: "Do you hear what I am hearing?" I said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, no!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is so-and-so, son of so-and-so, who is being punished in his grave because of a shamlah (wrap) that he took by embezzlement on the day of Khaybar."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ghassan bin Ubayd, who is da'if (weak), though Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
