عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : مَا قَاتَلَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَوْمًا حَتَّى يَدْعُوَهُمْ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِأَسَانِيدَ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not fight any people until he had first invited them (to Islam).
