Majma al-Zawaid 9505 — Guarding the frontier (ribat)

Sayyiduna al-Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every deed is cut off from the one who did it when he dies, except the one who stands guard in the path of Allah, for his deeds keep growing for him and his provision continues for him until the Day of Resurrection."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains, the narrators of one of which are thiqat (trustworthy).
