Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever shades the head of a ghazi, Allah Almighty will grant him shade on the Day of Resurrection, a day on which there will be no shade but His; and whoever equips a ghazi until he is fully equipped, he will receive a reward like that ghazi's." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Ibn Majah recorded the last part of this narration.
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it. Salih bin Mu'adh, the teacher of al-Bazzar, I do not know; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). The chain of Ahmad is munqati' (broken), and it contains Ibn Lahi'ah.
