Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9463

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever helps one who is striving (in jihad) in the path of Allah, or helps a poor debtor (in his hardship), or helps a slave in securing his freedom, Allah Almighty will grant him His shade on the day when there will be no shade but His."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abdullah bin Sahl bin Hunayf, whom I do not know, and Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil, whose hadith is hasan (good).
