Amr bin Abd al-Rahman bin Jarhad narrates: I heard a man say to Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): "How many of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah remain with you?" He replied: "Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him)." That man said: "As for Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him), he went back after emigrating." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not say that, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say to the people of the tribe of Aslam: 'O people of Aslam! Will you take up desert life?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah! We fear that if we emigrate, we may go back afterwards.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'You will be counted as emigrants wherever you are.'"
Ahmad recorded it. I do not know the narrator named Umar, and the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
