Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) fell ill in Makkah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him. He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Do you not dislike that a man should die in the place from which he emigrated?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes indeed! And perhaps Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, will raise you up, help some people through you, and benefit others through you."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it. The narrators of al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih, except Muhammad bin Umar bin Hayyaj, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
