Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put forward various parables to us: one, three, five, seven, nine and eleven. The narrator said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put forward one parable to us and left the rest. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a people are weak and powerless, and the people of tyranny and hostility fight them, and then Allah Almighty grants those weak people victory over the oppressors, and they then turn to their enemy, make them their officials and give them authority over themselves, such people will bring the displeasure of Allah Almighty upon themselves until the day they come before Allah Almighty."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains al-Ajlah al-Kindi, who is thiqah (trustworthy) though he has been declared weak, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
