بَابُ لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةٍ .
There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah
Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9146

وَعَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ بِقُطْرٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَى سِجِسْتَانَ ، فَلَقِيَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : تَذْكُرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ حِينَ اسْتَعْمَلَ رَجُلًا عَلَى جَيْشٍ وَعِنْدَهُ نَارٌ قَدْ أُجِّجَتْ ، فَقَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قُمْ فَانْزِلْهَا ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " لَوْ وَقَعَ فِيهَا لَدَخَلَا النَّارَ ، إِنَّهُ لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ - تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى - " ؟ وَإِنَّمَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُذَكِّرَكَ هَذَا .
Bilal bin Buqtur narrates: One of the Companions of the Prophet was appointed governor of Sijistan. Another Companion of the Prophet met him and said: "Do you remember about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man as commander of an army? A fire was lit near that commander, and he said to one of his companions: 'Get up and enter it!' When the Prophet was informed of this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'If that man had entered it, both of them would have entered Hell, for there is no obedience to anyone in disobedience to Allah Almighty.'" Then that (other) Companion said (to the Companion who was governor): "I wanted to remind you of this."
