بَابُ لُزُومِ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَطَاعَةُ الْأَئِمَّةِ وَالنَّهْيِ عَنْ قِتَالِهِمْ .

وَعَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ : قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَا نَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ طَاعَةِ مَنِ اتَّقَى وَأَصْلَحَ وَلَكِنْ مَنْ فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا - يَذْكُرُ الشَّرَّ . فَقَالَ : " اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We said: "O Messenger of Allah! We are not asking you about obeying one who is God-fearing and acts righteously, but about one who does such and such" (he mentioned evil) (what are we to do about him?). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fear Allah Almighty, and listen and obey."
