بَابُ لُزُومِ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَطَاعَةُ الْأَئِمَّةِ وَالنَّهْيِ عَنْ قِتَالِهِمْ .

وَعَنْ يُسَيْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَنَّ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ لَمَّا قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ احْتَجَبَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ : عَلَيْكَ بِالْجَمَاعَةِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَجْمَعْ أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى ضَلَالَةٍ ، وَاصْبِرْ حَتَّى يَسْتَرِيحَ بَرٌّ وَيُسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ فَاجِرٍ .
Yusayr bin Amr narrates: When Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) secluded himself in his house. I came to him and asked him about the state of the people. He said: "You must stay with the community (jama'ah), for Allah Almighty will not gather the Ummah of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) upon misguidance. Be patient until the righteous person finds rest, or rest is found from the wicked person."
