Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9070

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever is put in charge of any matter of the Muslims, Allah Almighty will not look to that person's need until he looks to their needs."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Husayn bin Qays, who is matruk (abandoned). Abu Mihsan claimed that he is a truthful shaykh. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
