وَعَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ - تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى - سَائِلٌ كُلَّ ذِي رَعِيَّةٍ فِيمَا اسْتَرْعَاهُ أَقَامَ أَمْرَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فِيهِمْ أَمْ أَضَاعَهُ ؟ حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ . وَقَتَادَةُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Qatadah narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Allah Almighty will call every guardian to account for what he was placed in charge of, whether he upheld the command of Allah Almighty among those people or neglected it, to the extent that a man will be called to account for his household.
Tabarani recorded it. Qatadah did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
