Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Makkah, he said: "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have made drinking wine and its price unlawful." He also said: "Keep your moustaches short, let your beards grow, and when you walk in the markets you must have a lower garment (izar) on. Whoever acts on the practice of someone other than us is not one of us." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: the complete narration is in the chapter on buying and selling.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Yusuf bin Maymun, whom Imam Ahmad, Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and a group declared da'if (weak), while Ibn Hibban called him thiqah (trustworthy); the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
