Sayyiduna Sawadah bin al-Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that I be given some camels. Then he said to me: "When you return home, tell those people to feed their young camels well, and tell them to keep their nails clipped, so that they do not injure the udders of their animals (with long nails) when milking."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, but al-Tabarani's wording is: "When you go home, tell those people to do their work well, and tell them to clip their nails, so that they do not injure the udders of their animals with them when milking." The chain of this report contains a narrator, Murajji bin Raja', whom Abu Zur'ah and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Yahya bin Ma'in and others called him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).
