وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خُذُوا مِنْ هَذَا ، وَدَعُوا هَذَا " يَعْنِي : يَأْخُذُ مِنْ عُنْفُقَتِهِ ، وَيَدَعْ مِنْ لِحْيَتِهِ . قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا الْأَخْذُ مِنَ الْعُنْفُقَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ ثُوَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي فَاخِتَةَ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trim these and leave this." What the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant was: trim the part below the lower lip and leave the beard.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the Sahih, but it does not contain the command to trim the part below the lower lip.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Thuwayr bin Abi Fakhitah, who is matruk (abandoned).
