Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are three (kinds of people) whom the angels do not approach: the person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), the disbeliever, and the one who has smeared himself with saffron."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Zakariyya bin Yahya bin Ayyub al-Darir, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Kathir, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
