Abu Habibah relates from a man (that man said): I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) because I had a need. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw khaluq on me and said: "Go and wash it off." I went and washed it, then I came back, and he said: "Go and wash it off." I went, went down into a well, took some soil and scrubbed it, searching out every trace of it. Then I came back to him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(What is) your need?"
Ahmad recorded it. If this narrator Abu Habibah is al-Ta'i, then he is thiqah (trustworthy); and if he is someone else, then I do not know him. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
