عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَخْطُبُ إِذْ قَامَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فِيهِ جَفَاءٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبْعُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ أَخْوَفُ لِي عَلَيْكُمْ حِينَ تُصَبُّ عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا صَبًّا فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا يَتَحَلَّوْنَ الذَّهَبَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon when a Bedouin with a harsh temperament stood up and said: "O Muhammad! Famine has devoured us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I fear something other than that more for you: when the world will be poured upon you in abundance. Would that my Ummah did not adorn themselves with gold."
