Majma al-Zawaid 8664 — Wearing silk in war

Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I have with me two sleeve-pieces (or arm coverings) of brocade belonging to Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had given them to him, and he used to wear them when taking part in battle.
Imam Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah. The remaining narrators of Imam Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
