وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا تَخَفَّفَتْ أُمَّتِي بِالْخِفَافِ ذَاتِ الْمَنَاقِبِ - الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ - وَخَصَفُوا نِعَالَهُمْ تَخَلَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشَّامِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the men and women of my Ummah wear perforated (decorated) leather socks (khuffs) and patch up their sandals, Allah Almighty will abandon them."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Uthman bin Abdullah al-Shami, who is da'if (weak).
