بَابٌ فِيمَنْ تَرَكَ اللِّبَاسَ تَوَاضُعًا .

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَّى يَوْمًا ، وَعَلَيْهِ نَمِرَةٌ فَقَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ : " أَعْطِنِي نَمِرَتَكَ وَخُذْ نَمِرَتِي " . فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَمِرَتُكَ أَجْوَدُ مِنْ نَمِرَتِي . فَقَالَ : " أَجَلْ وَلَكِنَّ فِيهَا خَيْطٌ أَحْمَرُ فَخَشِيتُ أَنْ أَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهَا فَيَفْتِنَنِي " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا مُوسَى بْنِ طَارِقٍ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed while wearing a striped wrap. He said to one of his Companions: "Give me your wrap and take mine." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, your wrap is finer than mine." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! But it has red embroidery in it, and I feared that I would look at it and it would distract my attention."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Musa bin Tariq, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
