وَعَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمِنَ الْكِبْرِ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِأَحَدِنَا النَّجِيبَةُ الْفَارِهَةُ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا " . قَالَ : فَمِنَ الْكِبْرِ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِأَحَدِنَا الْحُلَّتَانِ الْحَسَنَتَانِ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا " . قَالَ : فَمِنَ الْكِبْرِ أَنْ أَتَّخِذَ طَعَامًا فَأَدْعُوَ قَوْمِي فَيَمْشُونَ خَلْفِي وَيَأْكُلُونَ عِنْدِي ؟ قَالَ : " لَا " . قَالَ : فَمَا الْكِبْرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْ تُسَفِّهَ الْحَقَّ ، وَتَغْمِصَ النَّاسَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

A narrator named Husayn reports: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, is it part of arrogance that one of us has a fine she-camel of noble breed?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." He said: "Is it part of arrogance that one of us has two fine hullahs (suits of garments)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." He said: "Is it part of arrogance that I prepare food and invite my people, and they walk behind me and eat at my house?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, then what is arrogance?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That you turn away from the truth and look down on people."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Hamid bin Sulayman, and he is da'if (weak).
