وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوِيدٍ ، ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ فِي الثِّقَاتِ وَقَالَ : يُتَّقَى مِنْ حَدِيثِهِ مَا كَانَ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ ابْنِهِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْهُ ، قُلْتُ : وَهَذَا مِنْ غَيْرِ رِوَايَةِ ابْنِهِ ، وَلَكِنْ ضَعَّفَهُ الْجُمْهُورُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوِيدٍ ، ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ فِي الثِّقَاتِ وَقَالَ : يُتَّقَى مِنْ حَدِيثِهِ مَا كَانَ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ ابْنِهِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْهُ ، قُلْتُ : وَهَذَا مِنْ غَيْرِ رِوَايَةِ ابْنِهِ ، وَلَكِنْ ضَعَّفَهُ الْجُمْهُورُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I have not seen anyone who looked more handsome in a red hullah (suit of garments) than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ayyub bin Suwayd; Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Kitab al-Thiqat and stated that his hadith are to be avoided when they are narrated from him by his son Muhammad. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: this is not among what his son narrated. (That is,
this report is not transmitted from his son.) However, the majority have declared this narrator da'if (weak), and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
