وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِذْ لَحِقَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فِي حُلَّةٍ - إِزَارٌ وَرِدَاءٌ - قَدْ أَسْبَلَ ، فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَأْخُذُ بِنَاحِيَةِ ثَوْبِهِ وَيَتَوَاضَعُ لِلَّهِ وَيَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ " حَتَّى سَمِعَهَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي حَمْشُ السَّاقَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ زُرَارَةَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ ، يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ زُرَارَةَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْبِلَ " .
ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِكَفِّهِ تَحْتَ رُكْبَةِ نَفْسِهِ فَقَالَ : " يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ زُرَارَةَ هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا تَحْتَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ : " يَا عَمْرُو هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِأَسَانِيدَ وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا ثِقَاتٌ .
ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِكَفِّهِ تَحْتَ رُكْبَةِ نَفْسِهِ فَقَالَ : " يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ زُرَارَةَ هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا تَحْتَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ : " يَا عَمْرُو هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِأَسَانِيدَ وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were going along with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Sayyiduna Amr bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him) caught up with us. He was wearing a suit (hullah), that is, a lower garment and an upper wrap, and the lower garment was hanging down. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of the edge of his garment, humbling himself before Allah Almighty, and said: O Allah! This is Your servant, the son of Your servant and the son of Your maidservant. Sayyiduna Amr bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him) heard this, turned towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted: O Messenger of Allah! I am a man with thin shins. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Amr bin Zurarah! Indeed, Allah Almighty has made beautiful everything He created. O Amr bin Zurarah! Indeed, Allah Almighty does not love the one who lets his lower garment hang down. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his palm below his own knee and said: O Amr bin Zurarah! This is the place of the lower garment. Then he raised his hand, placed it below the first spot and said: O Amr! This is the place of the lower garment.
