وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَعَلَيَّ إِزَارٌ يَتَقَعْقَعُ فَقَالَ : " مَنْ هَذَا ؟ " فَقُلْتُ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ : " إِنْ كُنْتَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ فَارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ " فَرَفَعْتُ إِزَارِي إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقَيْنِ ، فَلَمْ تَزَلْ إِزْرَتُهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a waist-wrapper that was making a rustling sound as it dragged on the ground. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who is this?" I said: "Abdullah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you are Abdullah (a servant of Allah), then raise your waist-wrapper!" So I raised my waist-wrapper to the middle of the shins. The narrator says: his waist-wrapper remained like that until he died.
